Rice Gate (2012)

Contact

From an original photograph taken in 2017. On a stormy day at the headwaters of the May river, there patiently stands a Rice Gate. A piece of history from the days when the Lowcountry farms sustained their land with rice fields. The gate has been restored by the Palmetto Bluff enclave but for a few minutes, you can gaze into a living past. This is just the way it would have looked 200 years ago.
